1. Write a clear and complete 5 paragraph essay following this format:
Paragraph 1 / Introduction:
Sentence 1- "A quote from the text that you feel is an example of the story's moral" (Author, page number).
Sentence 2- Your thesis sentence that explains what you believe the main moral or lesson of the story is.
Sentence 3- One example of your moral impacting a character in the story, without details or descriptions.
Sentence 4- Second example of your moral message impacting a character.
Sentence 5- Final example of how the moral of the story effected the resolution of the book.
Paragraph 2:
5-7 sentences giving detail about your first example of the story's moral impacting a character in the story, to influence the character's decisions or change the course of the story. Be clear and explain your ideas using details form the book!
Paragraph 3:
5-7 sentences giving detail about your second example of the story's moral impacting a character in the story, to influence the character's decisions or change the course of the story. Be clear and explain your ideas using details form the book!
Paragraph 4:
5-7 sentences giving detail about your first example of the story's moral impacting a character in the story, to influence the character's decisions or change the course of the story. Be clear and explain your ideas using details form the book!
Paragraph 5 / Conclusion:
Sentence 1- Re-state what you believe the moral of the book is and why.
Sentence 2- Review your first example.
Sentence 3- Review your second example.
Sentence 4- Review the final example of how the moral was shown in the resolution of the story.
Sentences 5-7: Closing Statements...why is this moral meaningful to all readers, across multiple generations? What can readers take away from this story that could benefit them? How does the moral in Of Mice and Men remain true in today's society, for today's young people? What positive thing do you hope readers gain from this story?
2. Essay should have a correct header, title, and MLA formatting. The entire essay should be Times New Roman font, size 12. The essay itself (not the header) should be double spaced.
Headers are ALWAYS in the top left corner of an essay. Titles are always centered, directly on top of the first sentence of the essay with no underlines or bold text.
