Course SummaryThis is the highest level theater course. Students must complete both "Intro" and "Intermediate" theater courses before enrolling in Advanced Theater.
*Any exceptions must be cleared with instructor and school administration. Students requesting must have completed 30+ hours of non-classroom theater experience within 12 months of request to be considered. Advanced Theater is designed for students interested in pursuing theater careers or participating in theater recreational settings, beyond high school. In this course students will learn and practice advanced acting methods and techniques, and gain an understanding of the theater styles that are often requested in formal auditions. Students in this course will also learn proper formatting for formal acting resumes and video auditions. This course is designed to best prepare students for success in college or pre-professional theater settings, by familiarizing concepts and practices for an advanced understanding of today's theater professions. This course is designed for students with a genuine desire to improve their own performance abilities and expand their understanding of advanced concepts. Attendance and participation is expected 100%. Assignments in this course are completely performance and project-based. There are no paper exams or quizzes, and the completion of each project and performance constitutes a student's overall success. Regular evidence of rehearsal and preparation is also part of each final assignment score. |
